5 Simple Healthy Habits

Hey, 2018. Granted, it’s already February but it is still a new day, a relatively new year, and a new chance to actually add some new healthy habits into your daily routine.

Now, we know a lot of you have made some pretty big New Year’s resolutions for 2018. Some of these resolutions are so big, or so vague, that the most of you have already failed at keeping it up — and it’s still only February!

So, instead of making goals that sound a little like “work out everyday” or “save money”, our trick to making lifestyle resolutions stick is to make simple and easy habits that pack a punch into the way you live your life, without adding any major pressure. In fact, these healthy habits will help you in keeping your mood up and your relaxation flowing. Keep reading, and enjoy!

1. Embrace Loose Leaf Tea
Loose leaf tea sounds fancy, doesn’t it? Well, it is. But that doesn’t mean it’s hard or time-consuming to make. Whether it’s to pump you up or wind you down, visit one of Bali’s famous tea shops, and try incorporating loose leaf tea into your daily staples. It only takes 5 minutes to brew, and 15 minutes to enjoy, and you’re good to start enjoying the countless benefits.

2. Exercise in the mornings
If evening workouts are your thing, then keep at it! Otherwise, maybe try swapping the late-night sessions for early mornings? Waking up early to exercise will not only make you more alive and alert for work or school, it also helps to get it over with at the beginning of each day, because let’s face it, quite a few of us are too “tired” or too “stressed out” by the time the work day has ended and it’s time to change into our workout gear.

3. Celebrate your wins
Humans naturally want more out of everything, and aren’t easily satisfied. But when was the last time you pat yourself on the back for something small that you did to make you or someone else happy? It could be as simple as choosing to check off your to-do list rather than procrastinating, or giving back to someone in need. Make sure you take time to step back and realize your wins — big or small — and reward yourselves for them.

4. Enjoy the sun
By far the simplest and easiest way to make your life just a little bit better is to enjoy the sun. Start your day with a tea or coffee near sunlight, or stop for 20 minutes on your way home to enjoy the magnificent colors of the sunset. It’ll make your day, we promise!

5. Have a day off social media for a day
Sounds crazy, we know. But think about it, all of the push notifications that come through our devices, forcing us to glance over, and open multiple apps. How many times have you caught yourself going back and forth through social media apps for hours?

So here’s what we propose; dedicate one day where you delete all of your social media apps, log off, then do something fun or meaningful just to enjoy the moment and create mental memories, without whipping out Snapchat or Instagram. Let us know how it feels afterwards.
