3 Essential Oils For Stress Relief

In a study published in the Iranian Red Crescent Medical Journal, an experiment comparing two groups of pregnant women; one group given a 10-minute warm foot bath dressed with rose essential oils, and the other given a 10-minute warm foot bath without essential oils, showed that anxiety was reduced in the group of pregnant women that were given a foot bath with rose essential oils.

Aside from being beneficial to pregnant women, rose essential oil has shown to be very settling to the heart, and can help in relieving anxiety and depression due to grieving and shock.

3. Chamomile (Chamaemelum nobile)
Along with many other essential oils commonly used in aromatherapy for stress and anxiety, chamomile is definitely a top runner. It’s peaceful and calming scent helps to improve inner harmony, while decreasing irritability, worry, and anxiety.

There have been multiple studies published about the use of chamomile in terms of easing anxiety, such as a study conducted at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, which found that chamomile, in essential oils or other forms, are a clinically meaningful antidepressant, therefore making chamomile essential oils an effective aromatherapy for anxiety and stress.
