adheres to this method because they believe that it allows students to
concentrate more on precision without putting too much stress on the
body with too many repetitions.
For those who want to up their skills to the next level, the Sunset Pilates’
teacher training program is an extremely comprehensive 780 hour course
that follows the Pilates Method Alliance (PMA) model. The course covers
mat and equipment work as well as classes and research in anatomy and
special rehabilitation techniques to correct conditions such as
degenerative discs, scoliosis, rotator cuff problems, tendonitis,
pregnancy and lower back pain to name just a few. At the end of the
course students sit a final exam, and upon successful completion they
can apply to sit the PMA exam for international certification.
